The FiiO SnowSky Melody is one of the most distinctive portable DAC and headphone amplifier dongles ever crafted - a device that fuses genuine North American solid wood craftsmanship with serious audiophile-grade audio engineering in a pocket-sized form factor. Each Melody unit is individually carved from aged premium wood imported from North America, processed through dozens of complex steps including precision CNC machining, polishing, eco-friendly oiling, and air drying to achieve a stable, beautiful finish. Because each piece of wood carries its own unique grain and texture, every Melody is truly one of a kind. Over time, the wood develops a warm, natural patina - becoming ever more lustrous and personal with use.
Inside the elegant wooden shell, FiiO has placed a dual Cirrus Logic CS43131 DAC chip configuration, delivering exceptional digital-to-analog conversion performance with support for PCM up to 384kHz/32-bit and DSD64/128/256 (Native). Whether your library is built on high-resolution PCM files or expressive DSD recordings, the Melody handles both with precision and musicality. The Hi-Res Audio certification further validates the device's commitment to genuine high-fidelity reproduction.
Both 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced headphone outputs are provided on the front panel. The 4.4mm balanced output delivers up to 250mW+250mW at 32Ω (THD+N <1%), with a SNR of ≥127dB (A-weighted), THD+N below 0.0003%, and crosstalk of ≥121dB - figures that rival much larger dedicated amplifiers. The 3.5mm single-ended output provides up to 100mW+100mW at 32Ω, with SNR ≥123dB and THD+N below 0.00066%. The 3.5mm jack also doubles as a SPDIF/coaxial digital output via an adapter cable, allowing the Melody to feed external DACs or professional audio equipment with a stable, high-fidelity digital signal.
Sound tuning flexibility is a core part of the Melody experience. The built-in advanced DSP enables a 10-band high-precision parametric equalizer (PEQ), accessible through the FiiO Control App (Android) or the FiiO web interface. Users can freely adjust frequency points, gain, and Q values across three custom PEQ profiles, save and share curves online, and choose from multiple built-in presets - making the Melody a genuinely personal listening tool. The RGB ambient light indicator on the side button provides instant visual feedback on the current sampling rate, with distinct colors for different PCM and DSD formats.
Practical everyday usability is equally well-considered. The 3.5mm output supports CTIA in-line controls and microphone input, enabling hands-free calls and media control directly from your headphone cable. Two customizable volume/button modes (60-step quick adjustment or 120-step fine adjustment) let users tailor the control behavior to their preferences. UAC 1.0 and UAC 2.0 modes are both supported - UAC 1.0 enables plug-and-play compatibility with PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and other non-Android platforms without any driver installation.
Power efficiency is a priority: the Melody features an ultra-low standby current below 10mA and a user-configurable sleep mode timer, ensuring minimal drain on the connected smartphone's battery during long listening sessions or overnight use. The detachable USB Type-C cable ensures compatibility with Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, and beyond.
